As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in database administration with a focus on Oracle technologies, the DBA Manager will oversee a team of talented DBAs to support our client's needs. This role demands a deep understanding of Oracle database technology, architecture, application installation, and configuration. - Act as a Subject Matter Expert, mentor and guide for the DBA team, development teams, and QA teams to optimize the use of Oracle database technology.
- Lead and manage a team of database administrators in supporting client applications, ensuring effective issue resolution, and meeting scheduled goals.
- Direct involvement in troubleshooting and resolving complex customer issues, collaborating across teams for timely solutions.
- Prioritize and delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth operational flow and task completion.
- Enhance database performance and conduct tuning, including analyzing AWR reports and understanding Oracle indexing techniques.
- Oversee database creation, migration, backup, and recovery solutions in various environments.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including roles, privileges, CIS security standards, and database encryption to meet Unison and customer requirements.
- Advocate for and apply best practices in Oracle database architecture for performance and architectural flexibility.
- Develop and optimize PL/SQL code, including debugging and writing efficient code.
- Manage Oracle Multitenant architecture, container databases, and support development and QA environments on Oracle Cloud (OCI) DB Systems.
- Ensure proper database monitoring, patching, and understanding of Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
- Support Oracle databases in both on-premises and AWS Linux environments, including integration with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
- Proven expert in Oracle database technologies and architecture, with a solid background in database administration.
- U.S. Citizenship and Top-Secret security clearance required. Must be clearable to a higher level.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal teams.
- In-depth knowledge of database performance tuning, security, PL/SQL, Oracle Multitenant architecture, and Oracle Cloud support.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) is highly desirable.
