The Virtual Acquisition Office is seeking a Lead Acquisition Content Developer to own and manage The Daily—a high-profile, daily digital product delivering critical acquisition news, policy updates, upcoming events, and recent research to subscribers who are federal acquisition professionals. This role requires exceptional writing and editorial skills, intellectual curiosity to explore emerging trends, creativity to craft engaging and insightful content, a strategic product mindset, and an entrepreneurial approach to digital content development.

 

The Lead Content Developer will write various forms of content, oversee curation and editorial execution, ensuring The Daily remains the go-to resource for acquisition professionals. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of federal acquisition, a strong grasp of digital content best practices, and a data-driven approach to enhance The Daily’s reach and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Daily’s editorial strategy, ensuring content remains relevant, accurate, and engaging.
  • Curate and produce acquisition news each day for over 55,000 VAO subscribers across various roles in the acquisition workforce.
  • Refine content structure and style, ensuring consistency and clarity.
  • Leverage analytics and feedback to improve content quality and audience engagement.
  • Collaborate across teams to source data that integrates valuable insights and optimizes The Daily’s impact.
  • Guide and mentor content developers, fostering innovation and editorial excellence.

Qualifications

 

  • Exceptional sourcing, writing, and editorial skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into clear, engaging, and actionable content.
  • Deep understanding of federal acquisition processes, regulations, and emerging trends.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset—proactive, solution-oriented, and driven to enhance and evolve content offerings.
  • Ability to leverage audience analytics, engagement metrics, and feedback to optimize content strategy.
  • A background leading content teams or editorial processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using content management systems (CMS), email publishing tools, and analytics platforms.
  • Experience in editorial strategy, digital publishing, or content product management is preferred.
