This role supports mission-critical environments for Unison’s commercial and government customers, including Civilian, DoD, and Intelligence agencies. You will play a key role in maintaining and modernizing Unison's internal and customer-facing systems—including hosted SaaS environments—and in delivering secure, compliant, and highly available infrastructure services.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced systems engineer with a strong background in hybrid environments, cloud operations (AWS, Azure, GCS), virtualization, and security compliance frameworks.

  • Collaborate with Security teams to ensure alignment with Federal and DoD compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, IL4/5).
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for operational processes, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Serve as an escalation point for technical issues impacting internal users and external customers.
  • Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities and respond to critical system outages (24/7 as needed).
  • Document system configurations, maintenance processes, and troubleshooting runbooks.
  • Work cross-functionally with software development, hosting, and customer success teams to support application deployment and environment stability.

Qualifications

Core Competencies:

  • 5+ years of progressively advanced Systems Administration or Engineering experience in a hybrid or cloud-hosted environment.
  • Experience with production operations of SaaS applications, supporting 24/7 availability and high-performance delivery.

  • 5+ years’ managing public cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud (OCE)
  • Proficiency with VMWare vSphere/ESXi

Networking & Security:

  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN, DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, Active Directory, GPO
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust principles, firewall configuration, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (e.g., Cisco, Barracuda)
