The Unison Software Engineer is a hands-on role; both developer and administrator. This role will support the software engineering, testing and configuration management efforts by Unison’s Product Operations department. This role will work across all our core projects and collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance and Configuration Management to increase efficiency, product quality, improved installation and frequency of releases.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to use a wide variety of technologies and tools to help implement continuous improvement of our software engineering processes, including automation of the software build, testing and the deployment process.
  • Experience with modern Microsoft .NET software development with C# or VB.NET is required.
  • Experience configuring TeamCity, Jenkins or other Continuous Integration tool to build, publish and deploy software components is required.
  • In depth knowledge of configuration management tools, such as Subversion and Git.
  • Experience with system administration for both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to code and script, using Bash and PowerShell, for infrastructure deployment.
  • Experience with automation tools, such as Octopus, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef a plus.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field.
  • Minimum three years of overall development experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate reporting deliverables.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Clearance: For some positions, applicants may need to be the subject of a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship is required.
